Are you struggling with an addiction, whether that be with substances or a process addiction? Do you have a mental health disorder in tandem with your addiction issues (aka dual diagnosis) and feeling unsure how to address these problems? If so, I can help! I know it can feel scary and overwhelming to think about how to tackle this alone, but together we can examine your issues to help you gain coping skills to effectively reduce your symptoms and live a sober life with confidence and integrity. The tools I will provide you with I have been building throughout my career of 28 years, specializing in dual diagnosis disorders. You will gain resilience to your addiction, understand signs of potential relapse, learn methods for managing urges to use, as well as how to address day to day issues without them putting you at risk of falling back into your addiction. Building a fulfilling life without being controlled by your addiction IS possible and I am here to support you every step of the way!
Sadness, fear, anger, and anxiety are some of the most common and more uncomfortable emotions that we can experience as people throughout our lives, and also some of the most difficult to address and navigate. These feelings may be attributed to a mental health disorder of depression, anxiety, bipolar I or II, ADHD, or PTSD.
Through my practice, I have created a safe space for you to share your personal history so that we can gain an understanding of what you are struggling with and what is prompting these feelings that are challenging to regulate. We will work together to create new coping skills and strategies to aid in managing your mental health diagnoses, as well as the feelings associated them to help you regain perspective, recover motivation and joy, and feel healthy and stable in your life.
Relationships, whether romantic or familial, can be some of the most rewarding as well as frustrating parts of our lives. Regardless of the reasons you are having difficulty with your loved ones, we can work together in couples counseling or family sessions to examine what the problems are, ways to open lines of communication and set boundaries so that all involved feel safe and protected to come to some form of resolution that improves the interactions between all parties. And if the final result is loving someone from a distance and letting go of a relationship, I can thoughtfully navigate you through that process with care and support.
